On April 29, 2026, NexPoint Real Estate Finance, Inc. entered into a $375 million senior secured term loan facility with Mizuho Capital Markets LLC, secured by certain investment assets and related collateral, maturing on May 1, 2029, with two six-month extension options. The company drew $310 million at closing and used $185.2 million of the proceeds to repay its 5.75% senior unsecured notes due May 1, 2026, shifting its capital structure toward secured, floating-rate debt.

The facility bears interest at daily compounded SOFR, with a 2.0% floor plus 4.0% per annum, and is subject to customary covenants, mandatory prepayment provisions tied to repayments of pledged assets, and prepayment premiums before April 29, 2028. Concurrently, NexPoint entered into a total return swap with Mizuho on the $310 million notional amount that effectively reduces its net interest cost to SOFR, subject to a 2.0% floor, plus 2.45%, improving its financing efficiency and interest expense profile.
