An announcement from Castillo Copper Ltd. ( (AU:NFM) ) is now available.
New Frontier Minerals has secured a binding option and staged earn-in agreement to acquire a 90% interest in the Pomme rare earths and niobium project in Québec from Metallium, adding 43 mineral claims covering 2,400 hectares in a district near the world-class Montviel deposit. The asset has seen limited but encouraging wide-spaced drilling, with long intercepts of total rare earth oxides and niobium, good infrastructure access, and government and local Cree First Nation support, positioning it as a potentially significant North American critical minerals project.
The structure of the deal is capital-efficient, requiring modest upfront cash and share payments and minimum annual expenditure during a two-year option, allowing New Frontier to scale in via technical and investment milestones while leveraging Metallium as a processing and technology partner. Initial work will focus on conventional metallurgy and testing Metallium’s Flash Joule Heating process on existing core to upgrade rare earth mineralisation, deepening a broader vertical integration partnership and potentially enhancing project economics and shareholder value.
New Frontier has also engaged New York-based Viriathus Investor Advisory to raise its profile with U.S. investors, underscoring an ambition to tap deeper North American capital pools for its expanded critical minerals portfolio. The combination of a strategic Canadian rare earth asset, a technology partnership, and enhanced investor outreach supports the company’s effort to strengthen its position in the Western critical minerals supply chain.
