Nelson Resources has signed a Native Title and Mining Agreement with the Wangkatja Tjungula Aboriginal Corporation, representing the Nyalpa Pirniku people, for its Yarri Gold Project near Kalgoorlie. The commercially structured deal includes production-based royalties and formal consent for project activities, while also establishing commitments to employment, social development and ongoing engagement with traditional owners.
The agreement clears remaining objections to the grant of mining leases over the Yarri project, marking a key milestone in moving the asset to development-ready status. Coupled with an existing right-to-mine and funding arrangement under which MEGA Resources will provide up to $10 million and manage permitting, the deal significantly de-risks the project path towards a potential mine development decision.
