NCC has secured a SEK 580 million contract from Fredrikstad Municipality in Norway to build Arena Fredrikstad, a new ice center and multi-purpose sports arena that will replace the municipality’s existing ice facility. The arena will feature twin ice rinks capable of hosting top-tier Norwegian ice hockey games and will also be adaptable for concerts, trade fairs, exhibitions and other major events.
The project was developed in a partnering model involving NCC, the municipality, architects, consultants and future users to ensure a modern, flexible and future-oriented venue, underscoring NCC’s role in complex social infrastructure projects. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026 with completion targeted for the end of 2028, and the order will be recognized in the NCC Building Nordics business area in the first quarter of 2026, adding to NCC’s regional order book and reinforcing its position in public sports and event facility construction.
