NCC AB has been commissioned by Uniper to expand the Bålforsen hydropower plant in Lycksele, Sweden, with a project valued at approximately SEK 200 million. The expansion includes installing a new turbine and upgrading existing ones to enhance electricity generation and system services, aligning with Uniper’s strategy for flexible, green energy. Scheduled for completion in autumn 2027, the project will increase the plant’s output to 506 GWh annually, meeting the electricity needs of about 25,000 homes.
