National Bank Holdings ( (NBHC) ) has provided an announcement.

National Bank Holdings Corporation reported that in the first quarter of 2026, net income rose 29.7% year over year to $20.8 million, or $0.46 per diluted share, with adjusted net income of $32.6 million, or $0.72 per share, as higher net interest income and wider margins boosted returns despite elevated expenses. Loans grew 29.3% to $9.6 billion and deposits rose to $10.1 billion, while credit metrics remained strong, supporting improved returns on tangible assets and equity.

Results were significantly shaped by the January 7, 2026 acquisition of Vista Bancshares, which added $1.9 billion in loans and $2.2 billion in deposits and helped drive record quarterly loan fundings of $805.5 million and 12.4% annualized organic loan growth. The deal expanded NBHC’s presence in the Dallas-Ft. Worth, Austin and Palm Beach markets, increased core operating expenses, and contributed to a lower tangible book value per share, even as capital ratios stayed well above regulatory thresholds and the bank continued to deploy capital via a $100 million share repurchase program, of which $16.1 million was used in the quarter.

The most recent analyst rating on (NBHC) stock is a Buy with a $48.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on National Bank Holdings stock, see the NBHC Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on NBHC Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, NBHC is a Neutral.

The score is driven primarily by solid underlying financial resilience (low leverage, growing equity, and steady recent cash generation) and a constructive earnings-call outlook with specific growth and margin targets. These positives are tempered by weak reported 2025 revenue/earnings trajectory and only neutral-to-soft near-term technical momentum, while valuation and dividend support the stock but are not enough to outweigh the operating-growth uncertainty.
