MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings ( (JP:8725) ) just unveiled an update.
MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings plans to amend its Articles of Incorporation to support a major restructuring of its core non-life insurance operations. The company’s board has approved proposals to change the group’s trade name and relocate its head office, subject to shareholder approval at the 18th Annual Shareholders Meeting in June 2026.
The group will adopt a new unified brand name, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group, Inc., in line with the planned merger of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance and Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance effective April 1, 2027. The head office will also move from Chuo-ku to Chiyoda-ku in Tokyo, aligning the holding company’s base with that of the newly merged insurer to strengthen group management and reinforce its brand presence in domestic and international markets.
