Mondi plc, a global leader in sustainable packaging, has announced the strategic acquisition of Schumacher Packaging’s Western European assets, enhancing their corrugated packaging capabilities with an additional capacity of over 1 billion square meters. This move, valued at €634 million, is set to bolster Mondi’s footprint in Western Europe, particularly in the eCommerce sector in Germany, and is expected to be earnings accretive in the first full year post-completion. The deal, which includes state-of-the-art mega-box plants and an array of complementary fibre-based products, aligns with Mondi’s growth strategy and commitment to sustainability.
