Mitsui Chemicals and Idemitsu are advancing their plans to optimize production by consolidating ethylene facilities in the Chiba region, with a feasibility study indicating that the merger into Mitsui’s facility by fiscal 2027 is viable. Following a completed feasibility study, the companies will now proceed with front-end engineering and design (FEED) as they work towards enhancing competitiveness and production efficiency in a challenging domestic petrochemical market.
