Methanex Corporation has announced the acquisition of OCI Global’s international methanol business for $2.05 billion, a move that promises to increase the company’s global methanol production by over 20% and be immediately accretive to free cash flow per share. The acquisition, which includes world-scale methanol facilities with access to North American natural gas, aligns with Methanex’s strategic growth objectives and is expected to enhance shareholder value.
