Metasphere Labs, in collaboration with Ecoblox and PureSky, has announced a partnership to co-develop a Carbon-Aware Routing Protocol, aiming to make internet and data center operations more sustainable. The protocol will prioritize network paths based on carbon intensity and real-time offsets, aligning technological growth with environmental responsibility. The consortium plans to unveil the protocol and a reference design at the Mobile World Congress Americas 2024.
