Metals Australia Ltd has announced significant progress in its Lac Carheil Graphite Project in Quebec, Canada, with the purification of graphite to 99.99% carbon and a product yield of 72%, both surpassing industry standards for lithium-ion batteries. The company has selected Sept-Îles in Quebec as the preferred location for its Battery Anode Material Plant, which will serve the North American and European markets. The plant’s design will feature modular production trains, providing flexibility for future expansion, and aims to optimize milling and spheroidisation processes to enhance product yield.
