Medidata Solutions, in collaboration with GE Healthcare and PPD Development, is conducting a Phase 4 study titled ‘A Phase 4, Open-Label, Non-randomised, Multicentre Study to Evaluate Safety and Efficacy of Intravenous Administration of Sonazoid™ for Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound Liver Imaging in Paediatric Patients.’ The study aims to assess the safety and efficacy of Sonazoid™ microbubbles for contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in diagnosing liver masses in children, which is crucial for early detection and treatment of liver tumors.

The intervention being tested is Sonazoid™, a diagnostic agent used in CEUS to enhance imaging of liver lesions. This non-invasive technique helps visualize blood perfusion in real-time, aiding in the differentiation between benign and malignant tumors.

This open-label, non-randomized study involves a single group of pediatric patients receiving Sonazoid™ intravenously. The primary purpose is diagnostic, with no masking involved, ensuring clear observation of the intervention’s effects.

The study began on January 20, 2025, with the latest update submitted on July 30, 2025. These dates are pivotal as they mark the study’s progress and timeline for potential results that could influence clinical practices.

The update on this study could impact the stock performance of involved companies, particularly GE Healthcare and Medidata Solutions, by enhancing investor confidence in their innovative healthcare solutions. It also positions them competitively in the diagnostic imaging market.

The study is currently recruiting, with further details available on the ClinicalTrials portal.
