Maven Income and Growth VCT 4 ( (GB:MAV4) ) just unveiled an update.

Maven Income and Growth VCT 4 reported a resilient year to 31 December 2025, with NAV total return edging up to 154.63p per share despite a fall in NAV to 55.28p, as a maturing private equity portfolio delivered sustained revenue growth at many holdings. The trust invested over £6.6 million in five new and 19 existing portfolio companies and continued to prioritise follow-on funding to accelerate growth in its best performers while structuring more cautious support for those behind plan.

Two profitable exits from Horizon Ceremonies and DPP generated more than £7.4 million in cash, much of which was returned to investors via enhanced interim dividends and helped deliver a total annual dividend of 4.35p, equating to a 7.3% yield, above the 6% target. A partial realisation of AI-enabled contract software specialist Summize shortly after year-end delivered a 3.6x return with a sizeable retained stake, underlining the manager’s strategy of crystallising liquidity from high-growth companies while remaining invested, a model also applied to assets such as MirrorWeb, Novatus Global and Quorum Cyber.

The company’s 2024 subscription offer was fully subscribed early, raising £10 million, and a fresh offer launched in October 2025, reinforcing liquidity to support ongoing deal flow. Management welcomed regulatory changes that expand the size and funding limits for VCT-qualifying companies, which should broaden the investable universe and provide greater flexibility to back scaling SMEs, but flagged concerns over the planned cut in upfront income tax relief on new VCT investments, which could dampen retail demand if not reversed.
