Masdar, the UAE’s clean energy leader, has announced the acquisition of Saeta Yield from Brookfield Renewable for approximately $1.4 billion, expanding its renewable energy footprint in Spain and Portugal. This strategic move includes a portfolio of 745 megawatts of mainly wind assets and a significant 1.6-gigawatt development pipeline. The transaction aligns with Masdar’s aim to reach a global capacity of 100 gigawatts by 2030 and is indicative of the company’s commitment to supporting the EU’s net-zero ambitions.
