Marathon Petroleum Corporation is set for a leadership shift as Maryann T. Mannen takes the helm as Chief Executive Officer on August 1, 2024, succeeding Michael J. Hennigan. Mannen, with a robust background in finance and executive roles, will also continue as President and step into the CEO role of MPLX, an affiliate company. Hennigan transitions to Executive Chairman, while John P. Surma assumes the Lead Director position. Mannen’s appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in her extensive experience within the industry, as she also joins the Board’s Sustainability and Public Policy Committee.
