An announcement from Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. ( ($IN:M&M) ) is now available.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has notified stock exchanges and investors that securities regulator SEBI has opened a fresh one-year special window, from 5 February 2026 to 4 February 2027, for re‑lodgement of certain physical share transfer requests originally submitted before 1 April 2019 but earlier rejected for documentation deficiencies. The company has detailed eligibility rules, including mandatory submission of original share certificates and exclusion of disputed cases or shares already moved to the Investor Education and Protection Fund, and noted that all approved transfers in this window will be completed only via transfer‑cum‑demat with a one‑year lock‑in, which affects how legacy shareholders can regularise and dematerialise their holdings.

By publishing newspaper advertisements in English and Marathi and uploading details on its website, Mahindra & Mahindra is aiming to reach remaining holders of physical shares and streamline the transition to dematerialised securities in line with SEBI’s broader push to phase out physical transfers. The move is likely to reduce operational friction around old, defective transfer deeds, provide a final compliance pathway for affected investors, and support cleaner share registry records for the company ahead of any future corporate actions or regulatory scrutiny.
