Loomis Secures SBTi Validation for Ambitious Emissions Cuts

The latest announcement is out from Loomis AB ( (SE:LOOMIS) ).

Loomis AB has become the first company in its cash-handling and security logistics industry to secure validation from the Science Based Targets initiative for its new greenhouse gas reduction goals, underscoring a commitment to align with climate science and the Paris Agreement. The group has set near-term targets to cut absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 48 percent by 2030 from 2019 levels and reduce key Scope 3 emissions by 37.5 percent by 2035 from a 2024 base, building on an interim 34 percent Scope 1 and 2 reduction goal by 2027.

Management says these targets show it is possible to lower the sector’s climate footprint while maintaining critical cash-handling infrastructure, positioning Loomis as a sustainability leader within its niche. To meet the objectives, the company plans to accelerate the shift to renewable energy and renewable fuels across its operations and value chain, a move that may influence procurement, fleet management and partnerships with stakeholders throughout its global network.
