Lithium Australia NL ( (AU:LIT) ) just unveiled an announcement.
Livium has completed a strategic battery recycling project for Synergy’s Alkimos Beach Community Battery Energy Storage System, showcasing an end-to-end solution from collection in Western Australia to processing at Envirostream’s Victorian facilities. The contract with Synergy, a major state-owned power utility, validates Livium’s operational capability on large-format systems and underpins its plan to expand in the high-growth WA grid-scale storage market.
Across 348 lithium-ion battery modules weighing about 16.3 tonnes, Livium achieved a recycling rate of roughly 71.5%, recovering around 11.6 tonnes of material, including 4.6 tonnes of black mass destined for specialist processing partners. The project highlights the company’s emphasis on traceability, compliance and risk management, reinforcing its positioning as a key partner for utilities seeking ESG-aligned lifecycle management of energy storage assets and diverting significant volumes from landfill.
