Lithium Australia NL ( (AU:LIT) ) has issued an announcement.
Livium has signed a five-year lease, with three five-year extension options, for a new large-scale recycling hub in Derrimut, Melbourne, which will consolidate three existing sites into one. The facility, featuring enhanced safety systems and expanded warehouse and office space, is intended to reinforce recycling as Livium’s core business and provide a disciplined platform for future scale-up.
The Derrimut hub will support relocation of existing operations from Laverton North and Campbellfield and could lift Envirostream’s processing capacity from about 2,400 tonnes per annum to an estimated 10,660 tonnes through larger equipment and 24/7 operations. By positioning itself ahead of expected regulatory reforms and rising end-of-life volumes from electric vehicles and energy storage systems, Livium is targeting substantial growth in battery collections and is seeking to capitalise on a structural shift towards compliant domestic processing.
The expanded site also has scope to host technology partners involved in black mass processing and recycling of solar panels and rare earth elements, potentially opening new revenue and innovation pathways. This consolidation and capacity expansion strategy is designed to lower unit costs in Livium’s high fixed-cost model, strengthen its competitive position in Australia’s emerging battery recycling sector and align its operations with anticipated regulatory and market-driven increases in recoverable battery volumes.
The most recent analyst rating on (AU:LIT) stock is a Hold with a A$0.01 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Lithium Australia NL stock, see the AU:LIT Stock Forecast page.
