Lions Bay Capital ( (TSE:LBI) ) has provided an announcement.
Lions Bay Capital has expanded its loan facility with Metals One from CAD $4 million to CAD $10 million to accelerate the creation of a vertically integrated South African gold business via Lions Bay Resources. Ownership of Lions Bay Resources is set to shift as Metals One plans to convert part of its loan into equity, increasing its stake to 30%, while Lions Bay Capital and the Salamander Group will each move to 35%.
The enlarged facility will fund Lions Bay Resources’ planned acquisition of Vantage Goldfields’ assets and support working capital, with the loan secured against a broad package of Lions Bay and Lions Bay Resources assets. In parallel, Metals One’s funding will facilitate Lions Bay Resources’ USD $1.36 million purchase of a cogeneration plant in Newcastle, South Africa, intended to restart steam and power production and underpin the company’s integrated gold operations strategy.
