Legal & General ( (GB:LGEN) ) has issued an update.
Legal & General has disclosed the vesting of restricted share awards granted in April 2023 to several senior executives under its Share Bonus Plan, in line with UK Market Abuse Regulation requirements. The awards vested on 6 April 2026, with a portion of the resulting ordinary shares automatically sold on 7 April to settle tax liabilities and the balance retained by the individuals.
Group Chief Financial Officer Andrew Kail, retail and institutional business CEOs Laura Mason and Gareth Mee, Group Chief Risk Officer Chris Knight, and senior legal executives Geoffrey Timms and Maria Alvarez-Scott all saw sizeable awards vest. The transactions underline ongoing use of equity-based remuneration to align leadership incentives with shareholder interests, while the net increase in shares held by these PDMRs marginally strengthens management’s direct equity exposure in the company.
The most recent analyst rating on (GB:LGEN) stock is a Hold with a £2.49 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Legal & General stock, see the GB:LGEN Stock Forecast page.
Spark’s Take on LGEN Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, LGEN is a Neutral.
The score is held back mainly by weaker financial quality (margin compression, volatile cash generation, and higher leverage) and bearish technicals (price below key moving averages with negative MACD). A very high dividend yield provides partial support but is offset by a relatively elevated P/E given recent profitability.
