Legal & General ( (GB:LGEN) ) has issued an update.

Legal & General Group has admitted 126,987 new ordinary shares of £0.025 each to trading on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange under its existing block admissions tied to the company’s Sharesave (SAYE) employee scheme. This increases the total number of shares in issue and admitted to trading to 5,679,494,539, with the new shares fully fungible with existing stock, reflecting ongoing dilution from employee share participation but also continued alignment of staff incentives with shareholder interests.

The newly admitted shares relate to allotments made between 22 January and 26 March 2026, and carry standard voting rights consistent with the rest of the company’s ordinary share capital. While the move is procedural and does not involve a new prospectus, it marginally expands Legal & General’s free float and reinforces the firm’s use of broad-based employee ownership schemes as part of its capital and remuneration framework.

The most recent analyst rating on (GB:LGEN) stock is a Hold with a £2.49 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Legal & General stock, see the GB:LGEN Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on LGEN Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, LGEN is a Neutral.

The score is held back mainly by weaker financial quality (margin compression, volatile cash generation, and higher leverage) and bearish technicals (price below key moving averages with negative MACD). A very high dividend yield provides partial support but is offset by a relatively elevated P/E given recent profitability.
