Legacy Gold Mines Ltd ( (TSE:LEGY) ) has issued an update.
Legacy Gold Mines has detailed a 2026 surface drill program of about 20,000 feet at its optioned Baner Gold Mine Property in Idaho, following encouraging 2025 results that outlined broad zones of lower-grade gold mineralization and supported an initial conceptual exploration target of 50.3 million to 55.3 million tonnes grading 0.72 to 0.91 grams per tonne gold. The campaign will test up-dip extensions of the Main Zone and several satellite zones, while the U.S. Forest Service has deemed the company’s Plan of Operations complete and begun environmental review, positioning Legacy to potentially start drilling in the second quarter of 2026 and showcase its progress to investors at the PDAC 2026 convention in Toronto.
The 2026 drilling will focus on expanding the known gold system by stepping up-hill from previous holes, probing the Baner East-West Zone with historic workings, and testing the NE, NW and Angel Zones defined by prior drilling and gold-in-soil and geophysical anomalies. Confirmation of wide mineralized intervals with low waste-to-ore ratios could enhance the Baner project’s bulk-mining potential and improve Legacy Gold’s profile among exploration-focused investors and industry partners.
