Tom Florence has been appointed as the new Chairman of Tortoise Energy Infrastructure Corporation and Tortoise Sustainable and Social Impact Term Fund, effective January 1, 2025, succeeding H. Kevin Birzer. Florence, who has a rich background in developing private wealth businesses and strategic initiatives, will serve through the end of the 2025 annual shareholder meeting. Additionally, a court ruling has led Tortoise funds to not enforce their election under the Maryland Control Share Acquisition Act, impacting their governance strategy.
