The latest announcement is out from Kimbell Royalty Partners ( (KRP) ).
On May 18, 2026, Kimbell Royalty Partners and its affiliate agreed to acquire mineral and royalty interests in the Permian Basin from Mesa Royalties in a cash-and-unit deal valued at about $147 million. The package spans roughly 711 net royalty acres and interests in more than 400 drill spacing units across 15 Permian counties, with the transaction expected to close in the second quarter of 2026 and take effect from June 1, 2026.
The acquired assets are estimated to hold 7.67 MMBoe of proved reserves and to produce about 1,390 Boe per day over the twelve months from June 1, 2026, with 93% of first-year cash flow projected from producing and developed non-producing wells. The largely liquids-focused portfolio, backed by 364 drilled but uncompleted wells, over 600 undeveloped locations and 13 active rigs as of May 1, 2026, is expected to slightly increase Kimbell’s oil weighting and reinforce its role as a major consolidator in U.S. oil and gas royalties, while expanding its exposure to top Permian operators.
The most recent analyst rating on (KRP) stock is a Buy with a $23.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Kimbell Royalty Partners stock, see the KRP Stock Forecast page.
