Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced a significant investment in the Barakah One Company, a special purpose entity responsible for the Barakah nuclear power plant project in the United Arab Emirates. Initially planned for September 2025, KEPCO will now invest USD 1.22 billion in March 2025, acquiring 18% of Barakah One’s equity. This investment underscores KEPCO’s strategic expansion in the nuclear energy sector, with the Barakah project expected to operate from 2017 to 2084, marking a long-term commitment to international energy infrastructure.
