Karoon Energy Ltd ( (AU:KAR) ) just unveiled an update.

Karoon Energy’s leadership told shareholders at its 2026 annual general meeting that the company is close to restoring a safe, reliable and predictable production base, while advancing its organic growth portfolio and maintaining strict capital discipline. Management highlighted progress on long-term operational sustainability as part of a broader strategic transformation underway through 2025 and 2026.

The company reported a 16% total shareholder return in 2025, with its share price rising 11% against a weaker ASX 200 Energy Index and despite lower Brent crude prices, supported by dividends and an active on‑market buyback. Since inception in 2024, the buyback has retired about 12% of shares on issue, and the board plans to continue it, conditions permitting, as Karoon manages net debt of US$181 million and seeks to optimise its mix of higher‑cost bond debt and cheaper reserve‑based lending.

Karoon also completed the relocation of its global headquarters from Melbourne to Houston, citing the need to better manage a geographically dispersed business and align with its offshore asset base. The shift has already delivered efficiency gains, reduced role duplication and improved collaboration between Brazilian and U.S. operations, while the appointment of new CEO and managing director Carri Lockhart in late 2025 is expected to strengthen execution of key projects such as Baúna.

The most recent analyst rating on (AU:KAR) stock is a Buy with a A$2.55 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Karoon Energy Ltd stock, see the AU:KAR Stock Forecast page.
