ReNu Energy Limited ( (AU:JNS) ) just unveiled an announcement.
Janus Electric has launched its first South Australian dealer-led conversion centre in partnership with Archer Heavy Equipment, marking the start of a national rollout of its heavy vehicle electrification network. The Archer facility, complementing Janus’s New South Wales headquarters, is expected to handle about 50 truck conversions in its first year and scale to 150–200 annually as demand increases.
The company is in talks with partners in Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia, with initial dealer network capacity expected to reach at least 250 truck conversions per year. By integrating conversions, swappable battery infrastructure and a distributed dealership model, Janus aims to deliver a commercially viable alternative to full truck replacement and align with government-backed, networked decarbonisation initiatives in the freight sector.
Management argues that targeted federal and state incentives are now needed to accelerate adoption, as operators face significant upfront costs despite improving economics. South Australia’s high renewable energy penetration and the ability to charge swappable batteries during periods of strong generation make it a natural launch market, positioning Janus to benefit from policy momentum and rising demand for zero-emission heavy transport solutions.
