Ivanhoe Electric’s Strategic Mining Partnership with BHP

An update from Ivanhoe Electric Inc. (IE) is now available.

Ivanhoe Electric Inc. has teamed up with BHP Mineral Resources Inc. to explore for copper and other critical metals across selected areas in the US, with the potential to establish 50/50 joint ventures. Initial exploration will focus on Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah, with BHP funding the first $15 million. The partnership is structured in two phases: project generation and joint venture, with exploration activities leading to the possible development and operation of mining projects. The agreement also includes provisions for management, funding, intellectual property, and termination, with a three-year term and options for extensions.
