An update from IP Group plc ( (GB:IPO) ) is now available.
IP Group has launched the Climate Catalyst Fund in partnership with Australia’s Clean Energy Finance Corporation to back early-stage Australian cleantech companies targeting hard-to-abate sectors such as cement, steel, heavy transport and dispatchable energy. The fund, aiming for up to A$150m, has completed a first close with A$30m from IP Group and A$20m from the CEFC, reinforcing IP Group’s strategy to grow institutional private capital under management and deepen its role in commercialising decarbonisation technologies.
The new vehicle complements IP Group’s existing Australian activities, including a A$435m Hostplus mandate and investments in local names like Hysata and Electralith, positioning the firm to capture what partners describe as a multi-trillion-dollar global decarbonisation opportunity. By focusing on technologies for hard-to-abate industries that account for a substantial share of global emissions, the fund is intended to accelerate climate innovation while creating a significant long-term investment pipeline for both IP Group and external investors.
The most recent analyst rating on (GB:IPO) stock is a Hold with a £53.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on IP Group plc stock, see the GB:IPO Stock Forecast page.
Spark’s Take on IPO Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, IPO is a Neutral.
The score is held back primarily by volatile operating performance and persistently weak cash generation despite a 2025 profitability rebound, while the balance sheet provides stability but not enough to offset cash-flow concerns. Technicals are also soft with the stock below longer-term moving averages and negative MACD. These are partially balanced by a low P/E valuation and a mixed-but-constructive earnings update featuring portfolio progress, higher proceeds, and ongoing buybacks.
