Interfor Slashes Lumber Production Amid Weak Market

Interfor (OTC) (TSE:IFP) has released an update.

Interfor Corporation is set to reduce its lumber production by nearly 10%, amounting to 175 million board feet from May to September 2024, as a measure to balance production with customer needs in light of ongoing weak market conditions. These reductions, affecting all regions in North America, will involve varied strategies such as adjusted operating hours and extended maintenance shutdowns. This decision follows a prior curtailment, including the indefinite closure of the Philomath, Oregon sawmill.
