Insource Co., Ltd. outlined the reasons behind its modest 7% year-on-year sales growth and 4% decline in operating profit in 1Q FY25, attributing the shortfall mainly to internal factors such as over-concentration on digital projects for large enterprises, a misstep in reducing open seminar volume, and higher personnel costs from aggressive hiring. Management stressed that underlying client demand for training, especially in evaluation systems, mentoring, communication, and DX/AI-related skills, remains strong, and that sales and profit lagged planned levels by around ¥200 million and ¥220 million, respectively.

To restore growth, the company has launched an Emergency Sales Strategy Team to drive new business, set proposal amount as a key KPI with a ¥50 billion annual target, and embedded a generative AI agent into its in-house sales system to rapidly generate customized proposals. Insource is tightening its large-enterprise strategy by deploying multiple reps per client, accelerating content development for more granular generative AI/DX use cases, expanding and dynamically pricing open seminars, enhancing its LMS “Leaf” with AI functions instead of raising prices, and shifting its other businesses toward higher-margin video, e-learning, consulting, and face-to-face training support while deepening multi-year public-sector contracts and seeking more small projects.
