Infratil Limited ( (NZ:IFT) ) has shared an update.

CDC Data Centres, majority-owned by Infratil, has signed a 555MW, long-term contract with a US investment-grade customer, the largest data centre deal in Australian history, lifting its total contracted capacity to more than 1GW. The capacity will be delivered across existing CDC developments coming online in FY28–FY29, underscoring Australasia’s growing appeal as a secure, renewable-powered hub for large-scale computing and intelligence generation.

The agreement, equivalent to about 40% of all Australian data centre operating capacity in 2025, cements CDC’s position as the largest data centre provider in Australia and New Zealand and signals a step-change in regional demand. CDC expects EBITDAF to exceed A$1 billion in FY28 and reach about A$2 billion when the contracted capacity is fully deployed, with an accelerated build programme funded through existing cash, committed facilities, and additional debt and hybrid instruments without requiring further shareholder equity.

CDC’s FY27 EBITDAF guidance of A$680 million to A$720 million remains unchanged, with newly contracted capacity only becoming operational from FY28 onwards. The company plans FY27 capital expenditure of A$3.8 billion to A$4.2 billion, excluding land, to scale construction in line with surging market demand, supported by Moody’s recent Baa2 (Stable) credit rating on its Australian business, which broadens access to global debt and hybrid funding markets.
