Ilika plc has announced the partnership with Tata Sons subsidiary Agratas in the SiSTEM project, aimed at accelerating the industrialization of solid-state battery (SSB) technology. The £2.7 million project, supported by the Automotive Transformation Fund (ATF), will see the construction of a 1.5MWh SSB assembly line and the scale-up of Ilika’s Goliath SSB prototype cells. The collaboration aligns with the UK’s push towards electrified automotive supply chains and net-zero emissions targets, potentially positioning Ilika and Agratas at the forefront of the UK’s battery manufacturing industry.
