IHI Subsidiary Involved in Snowplow Specification Scandal

IHI (JP:7013) has released an update.

IHI Corporation has disclosed that its subsidiary Niigata Transys Co., Ltd. engaged in misconduct by delivering rotary snowplows with specifications that differed from what was presented to customers. A total of 1,239 snowplows sold between 2007 and 2017 are affected, prompting an internal investigation into the impact of this issue on IHI’s financial results. The company has apologized for the inconvenience and is reconfirming the snowplows’ maximum snow removal capacity.
