i-CABLE Narrows Annual Loss Amid Weak Hong Kong Media Market

i-CABLE Communications reported 2025 revenue of HK$538.7 million, down from HK$584.5 million a year earlier, as both its media and telecommunications segments saw lower sales, particularly in advertising and network construction. Despite this, loss from operations narrowed by about 12% and net loss shrank 11% to HK$490 million, aided by a 10% reduction in operating expenses and improved segment profitability before depreciation and impairment.

i-CABLE attributed its challenges to a weak Hong Kong media environment marked by subdued domestic consumption, shifting consumer behavior, and pressure on traditional advertising-driven models. While the group remains in a significant net deficit position with rising total liabilities, the cost-saving measures and improved operating metrics suggest a modest operational turnaround that may help stabilize its position in a difficult market for media and telecom players.
