HSBC Announces Major Share Buy-Back

HSBC Holdings (GB:HSBA) has released an update.

HSBC Holdings plc has announced the repurchase and subsequent cancellation of a significant number of its shares, with the actions taking place across various stock exchanges including the London Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company’s latest buy-back operation on 9 September 2024 involved over 3 million shares from UK Venues and 2.8 million from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, amounting to a total consideration of approximately US$1.27 billion since the buy-back program began on 1 August 2024. This buy-back is part of HSBC’s effort to optimize its capital structure and deliver value to its shareholders.
