HSBC Advances Share Buy-Back Program

HSBC Holdings (GB:HSBA) has released an update.

HSBC Holdings PLC has continued its share buy-back program, purchasing millions of shares for cancellation on both the UK and Hong Kong stock exchanges as of September 19, 2024. The share repurchase on this date totaled over 8.3 million shares, contributing to a grand total of nearly 200 million shares bought back since the program’s announcement in August. This move has resulted in a reduced number of voting shares, now standing at 18.3 billion post-cancellation, affecting shareholders’ notification thresholds under the Financial Conduct Authority’s rules.
