Hong Kong & China Gas Co has reported a steady growth in its gas business and a surge in green energy, with a core operating profit of HK$3,186 million in the first half of 2024, up 2% from the previous year. Despite global economic challenges, the company saw a 7% increase in mainland city-gas sales and strong growth in its green energy and extended businesses. An interim dividend of HK12 cents per share has been declared, reflecting the company’s confidence in its financial health and business strategy.
