Merida Minerals Holdings Inc ( (TSE:ESPN) ) has shared an update.
Hispania Resources has advanced its Lumbrales tin project in western Spain following a site visit and meetings with newly elected Mayor Carlos Pedraz, who was briefed on plans for the past-producing Mari Tere mine and the next phases of work. The mayor expressed full support for the project, highlighting its potential to create direct and indirect employment and acknowledging the company’s commitment to environmental, social and governmental standards.
Municipal authorities indicated that reclassifying the already designated “strategic mining” land to industrial use should be straightforward and that water access for drilling from an existing deposit would not present difficulties. Hispania’s chief executive Norman Brewster said the strong backing from local government and community is strategically important for advancing Lumbrales at a time of favourable tin market conditions, reinforcing the company’s ability to move the historic mine toward renewed development.
