Hino Motors Dissolves Subsidiary Amidst EV Expansion

Hino Motors (JP:7205) has released an update.

Hino Motors, Ltd. has decided to dissolve its subsidiary Shanghai Hino Engine Co., Ltd., citing the unlikely sustainable growth due to the rise of electric vehicles and construction machinery in China. The subsidiary, established in 2003 with Hino Motors holding a 70% stake, will cease manufacturing by the end of September 2024 and will then begin dissolution procedures. The impact of this dissolution on Hino Motors’ financial performance for the fiscal years ending in March 2025 and 2026 is currently under review.
