Highwood Oil Co. Ltd. ( (TSE:HAM) ) just unveiled an update.
Highwood reported fourth-quarter 2025 average production of 5,040 boe/d and expects first-quarter 2026 output to rise about 20% to roughly 6,000 boe/d, supported by strong performance from two new Alberta light oil wells that together produced about 2,500 boe/d in January and are projected to pay out in less than three months at current prices. The company posted Q4 2025 adjusted EBITDA of $10.9 million and adjusted funds flow of $10.6 million, grew proved developed producing reserves by 7% to 19,594 Mboe with corresponding gains in total proved and proved plus probable reserves, realized higher net asset values per share, and underscored its risk management and financial flexibility through an active hedging program and sizable tax pools that are expected to defer cash taxes for several years.
Highwood also highlighted that its oil hedges for 2026 and 2027 average in the low C$90s per barrel, with additional volumes added amid geopolitical tensions and rising crude prices, and it has locked in a portion of 2026 natural gas at AECO pricing. Management emphasized a priority of reducing Net Debt to EBITDA to enhance corporate flexibility, noting approximately $325 million in tax pools, including over $100 million in non-capital losses, which support its ability to reinvest in growth and sustain returns to shareholders without near-term cash tax burdens.
