The latest update is out from Alderan Resources Ltd. ( (AU:HWK) ).
Hawk Resources has reported intersections of strong near-surface copper mineralisation in two drill holes along the Cactus corridor at its Cactus copper-gold project in Utah, with portable XRF readings indicating very high copper grades within brecciated and altered granodiorite. These initial results, from the first drilling of near-surface zones at Cactus since the 1960s, are part of an ongoing program to delineate mineralised breccia bodies from surface to about 50 metres depth, refine the understanding of true thickness and grade, and guide future deeper drilling and deposit modelling.
Management highlighted that upcoming laboratory assays, including multi-element analysis for gold and silver, will be needed to confirm the pXRF readings and fully characterise the mineralisation, noting that historical operations treated gold and silver as significant by-products. The drilling campaign, which also includes testing of geophysical targets at nearby prospects, is intended to upgrade the geological model of the corridor and could enhance Hawk’s resource potential and strategic positioning in the copper-gold exploration sector if strong grades and widths are confirmed.
