Haitong Securities Trading Halted Amid Merger Talks

Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. has announced the continued suspension of trading for its shares and certain bonds amid discussions of a potential merger with Guotai Junan Securities, which is still pending approval from regulatory authorities and the companies’ boards. The trading halt, which began on September 6, 2024, is in place until further notice, with a maximum suspension period for A shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange set at 25 trading days.
