Grupo Financiero Galicia S.A. has informed the Argentine Securities Commission that its subsidiary, Banco de Galicia y Buenos Aires S.A.U., has voluntarily compensated the Argentina Central Bank for alleged damages incurred in February 2024, without admission of any wrongdoing. The total payment made includes both principal and interest, totaling over 28 billion pesos, which the Bank hopes will rebuild trust and repair reputations tarnished by the incident’s publicity. The future impact of any sanctions related to the ongoing administrative proceedings remains uncertain at this time.
