Greenwing Resources Ltd ( (AU:GW1) ) has provided an update.
Greenwing Resources has released new analysis of magnetotelluric geophysical survey data from its San Jorge Lithium Brine Project in Argentina, indicating the brine system may extend to about 1,000 metres depth, more than double the maximum depth drilled to date. Lithium grades are reported to increase with depth across all six drill holes, with deeper samples reaching up to 248 milligrams per litre lithium, above the current resource grade of 195 milligrams per litre.
The company’s technical advisor Zelandez has recommended prioritising drilling of the deeper brine body, as the current 1.07 million tonne lithium carbonate equivalent resource only reflects the upper portion of the system. With the brine body remaining open to the west, north and at depth, and much of the potential resource volume possibly concealed beneath cover, the findings suggest substantial scope to grow both the size and quality of the resource, reinforcing San Jorge’s potential as a significant future lithium supply source.
Integrated interpretation of MT, TEM, passive seismic and drilling data has produced a more comprehensive subsurface model, showing the brine overlying Permian basement rocks. This technical refinement supports a redesigned drilling program targeting deeper, potentially higher-grade zones, which could enhance Greenwing’s competitive position in a lithium market that management views as structurally constrained on the supply side.
More about Greenwing Resources Ltd
Greenwing Resources Ltd is an ASX-listed resources company focused on lithium brine exploration and development, with its flagship San Jorge Project located in Catamarca Province, Argentina. The company controls a consolidated landholding of about 38,000 hectares, including 100% of the San Francisco Salar, positioning it to target growth in global lithium supply for the battery and electric vehicle sectors.
The San Jorge Project currently hosts a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate of 1.07 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent at an average grade of 195 milligrams per litre lithium. This resource was defined from drilling to a maximum depth of 402 metres near the salar boundary, leaving large parts of the broader brine system untested and providing significant exploration and development optionality.
