Green Battery Minerals Inc. reports that the U.S. President Joe Biden has decided to impose a 25% tariff on Chinese imports that include natural graphite, a move set to strengthen domestic production and address intellectual property concerns. This new tariff, which marks a significant increase from the current 0%, is anticipated to impact about $18 billion in annual imports and will be effective from 2026. The company, which possesses a North American graphite resource, suggests that this could enhance the prospects of ESG-friendly domestic suppliers in the critical minerals sector.
