Grayscale Bitcoin ( (GBTC) ) has issued an update.
On August 8, 2025, Grayscale Investments entered into a custodial services agreement with Anchorage Digital Bank to enhance the custody and safekeeping of its Bitcoin holdings. This agreement reflects Grayscale’s risk management strategy and does not affect its existing arrangement with Coinbase, which remains the primary custodian. Anchorage Digital will use cold storage for private keys, enhancing security, and has the discretion to manage blockchain forks. The agreement also includes indemnification clauses and insurance requirements, indicating a comprehensive approach to safeguarding assets.
