Genesis Energy Secures Major Solar Farm Project

Genesis Energy Limited (DE:1G6) has released an update.

Genesis Energy Limited is expanding its renewable energy portfolio with the acquisition of a 127 MWp solar farm near Edgecumbe, set to power 30,000 homes with its 230 GWh annual output from 2026. The project, part of Genesis’s Gen35 strategy to achieve 95% baseload renewable generation by 2035, will be developed with a focus on dual land use allowing sheep grazing, demonstrating Genesis’s commitment to sustainable practices and energy security. With an investment decision due mid-2025, the solar farm is poised to bolster New Zealand’s green energy capabilities and support national decarbonisation efforts.
